Mexican artist Emiliano Gironella Parra (IAA 90-92) recently showcased his work at the Mexican Cultural Institute in Spain, housed in the Mexican Embassy in Madrid. The exhibition is titled "Reality and Wonder: 500 years after the Moctezuma-Cortés encounter." Parra’s 30 monotype prints explore the historical encounter between Aztec king Moctezuma and Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés.

The works are part of the Andrade Group Foundation and Heraldo Media Group's art collection. The exhibition opening on September 20 was attended by Mexico's ambassador to Spain, Quirino Ordaz Coppel.

Parra is known for his work in painting, engraving, and woodcuts, and has showcased his art in several countries, including the United States, Great Britain, Poland, Italy, and Spain.

The exhibition will be open to the public at the Mexican Cultural Institute in Spain until October 20, 2023.
