Mary (Alderdice) Malin (IAC/NMC 1955-60, 62-63, IAA 62-64, UNIV 64) appeared as a harpsichordist at the 60th anniversary celebration of the Schneider Concerts under the direction of Jaime Laredo.The Schneider Concerts were founded in 1957 at The New School by director Alexander Schneider. Ms. Malin had performed with Alexander Schneider for many years in concerts with the New York String Orchestra, the Brandenburg Ensemble and The New School.

Cynthia Estill (IAC/NMC 65-66, IAA 66-67) recently retired from her position as principal bassoon of the Nashville Symphony. Estill had been the Nashville Symphony’s principal bassoonist since 1972.

Allen Vizzutti (IAC/NMC 68-69, IAC Fac 08) was named one of two recipients of the 2017 International Trumpet Guild Honorary Award. The award recognizes “those individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the art of trumpet playing.”

Dr. Meryl Krieger (IAC 80-82, IAA 84, IAC St 85) began a new position as Career Specialist and Undergraduate Career Advisor at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music over the summer.

Demarre McGill (IAC 89-91) signed a one-year contract as a flutist with the Met Opera Orchestra in early August. McGill is signed as a temporary replacement and will have a chance to defend his position next year when the position will be advertised and officially filled.

Jordan (Clifford) Ware (IAA 91-93) released her second solo album, Mountains and Valleys, in May.

Matthew McTeague (IAA 95-96) recently received his master’s degree in choral conducting from Ohio University; after graduation, Mr. McTeague was appointed the assistant director of the Pittsburgh Boy Choir. Mr. McTeague also married over the past summer.

Elizabeth (Ball) Crawford (IAA 97-98, IAC 98) accepted a visiting artist faculty position at Brigham Young University - Idaho. Ms. Crawford teaches Music Technology, Chamber Winds and Scoring and Arranging in addition to her role as Instructor of Bassoon.

Laurel Harris (IAC 01, AS 02) joined the cast of the new Broadway musical In Transit as the understudy for Jane, Ali and Kathy. Harris has previously appeared in Broadway in Beautiful and Evita and as the understudy for Elphaba in the national tour of Wicked.

William Alan Higgs (IAC 04, IAA 04-05) was accepted into the Ryan Center Young Artist Program at the Chicago Lyric Opera.

Kate Inie-Richards (IAC 05, IAA 05-07, IAC St 08-11, 13) was selected in 2016 as one of Delaware Business Times "Best 40 under 40". This prestigious award is given to the top 40 young professionals in the state of Delaware under 40. Ms. Inie-Richards currently serves as the Director of the Music School of Delaware's Milford Branch.

Matthew J. Pool (IAA 07-08) will be the associate music director and conductor for the upcoming national tour of “Annie” directed by Martin Charnin.

Lizzy Jutila (IAA 10-11) has joined the cast of Sarah Delappe’s play The Wolves at The Duke on 42nd Street. The Wolves follows a girls’ indoor soccer team as they navigate life on and off the field.

Caroline Murrah (IAA 10-12, IAC St 12) is a member of the cast of the Broadway national tour of Fun Home as the understudy for Medium Alison and Joan.

Danna Nelson (IAA 13-14, IAC St 15) appeared as a guest soloist in the Finnish Radio Symphony’s recent young soloist concert. Nelson performed Daniel Schnyder’s bass trombone concerto, “Sub Zero.”
