Vanessa Taylor (IAC/NMC 85-86) is overseeing the rewrites to Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of Aladdin. Her next film, The Shape of Water, opens in the U.S. on Dec. 8, 2017. She co-wrote the movie with the film’s director—Guillermo del Toro.
The McGill/McHale Trio, comprised of Demarre McGill (IAC/NMC 89-90, IAC 91), Anthony McGill (IAC 91, 93, IAA 94-96) and Irish pianist Michael McHale, released their debut album “Portraits - Works for Flute, Clarinet & Piano" on Cedille Records.
Thomas Kitt (IAC/NMC 90) composed the music for a musical adaptation of Alanis Morissette’s 1995 album, Jagged Little Pill. The first reading of the show will star Idina Menzel and will be directed by Diane Paulus (IAC/NMC 75-78). Kitt also has a second musical, Superhero, staged as part of the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s 2017 National Music Theater Conference. Kelli O’Hara will star in the staged readings of the musical.
Alicia Van Couvering (IAC 94-96) is an executive producer of Homecoming, a new Amazon original series starring Julia Roberts.
Kristen Martin (IAC 96, 98-99, IAA 00-01) recently began her tenure as “Nessarose” in the Broadway production of Wicked.
Alex Sopp (IAA 97-01) is a member of the sextet yMusic, which recently released a new EP with The Tallest Man on Earth. In addition to playing flute on the record, Alex designed the artwork for the album’s cover.
Ashley Park (IAC 03) will star as Gretchen Wieners in the world premiere of the Mean Girls musical. The show will open at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 31.
Lizzy Jutila (IAA 10-11) will reprise her role in Sarah DeLappe’s award-winning play, The Wolves, at the Lincoln Center this fall.
