Greetings from Interlochen,
It is hard to believe that it’s been almost a year since you welcomed me to the Interlochen family. Thank you for taking the time to meet and talk with me.
I’ve been able to hear first-hand the role Interlochen has played in your lives and the advancement of the arts across the country and world. I’ve also seen how Interlochen has affected people and the world beyond the arts. It’s been inspiring to hear from you and the voices of those who have been so touched by the people and the programs that make our mission come to life.
Many of you have talked to me about the importance of ensuring a life-changing Interlochen experience is accessible to deserving young artists from all walks of life, and I absolutely agree.
Greater scholarship support is vital to ensure that Interlochen is accessible to promising young artists, regardless of their financial means, and to ensure that our student populations reflects the rich diversity of our global society. A diverse student body, with young people from all backgrounds, enriches the experience for everyone at Interlochen.
Making sure that all promising young artists have the opportunity to attend Interlochen will be the intense focus of the final months of CREATE AMAZING, and it will be a key priority for Interlochen as we prepare for our Second Century with the celebration of our 100th anniversary in 2028.
With this in mind, I am excited to announce a new opportunity to champion scholarships for young artists. Dr. Mohamed A. El-Erian, globally-respected economist and devoted Interlochen supporter, has also witnessed how inspirational teachers and talented peers transform young students’ lives.
He would like to provide greater opportunity for a new set of passionate artists by increasing scholarship support. To do that, for every person who supports the Interlochen Annual Fund through May 31, Dr. El-Erian will contribute an additional $100 up to a total of $200,000. His, and our goal is to inspire at least 2,000 Annual Fund donors to enhance scholarship support for young artists. This is an extraordinary opportunity to support the friendship and joy that springs from this campus when dedicated youth come together to create art.
You will receive more information about how to give soon, and I personally invite you to join with me and Dr. El-Erian to increase scholarship support for dedicated young artists. Together, we can ensure talented artists have the opportunities they deserve to explore their potential through art.
I look forward to sharing progress as we embark on this exciting challenge. Thank you for helping make Interlochen even more extraordinary.
